The proposals combine the restoration of a Grade II listed building with a new college and crèche, alongside new residential accommodation. The site is carefully divided to establish a clear relationship between the historic buildings, the new college and the surrounding landscape.
The new college occupies broadly the footprint and height of the existing 1960s Powell House, avoiding additional overlooking while providing a more efficient and adaptable learning environment. Contemporary architecture sits alongside the restored listed fabric without competing with its historic character.
